Madurai Meenakshi said ‘Go and meet Seshadri Swamigal’!

There was a man from Saurashtra living in Madurai. He did not have any children. For this purpose he was praying to the deity, Sri Meenakshi every day. After two years of such prayers, Sri Meenakshi Devi appeared in his dream one night and instructed him to see Seshadri Swamigal at Tiruvannamalai.

Accordingly he came to Tiruvannamalai with his wife. For one whole week he could not locate Seshadri Swamigal. Later he located Him at the sanctum of Ambal and bowed to Him in obeisance.

Swamigal asked him, “Have you been sent by Devi Meenakshi?”

Shankara.

Astonished at this, the Saurashtra man replied in the affirmative and wept with joy.

Swamigal then tied that gentleman’s top cloth with his wife’s sari and told him, “You can return home and a child will be born”. Then Swamigal followed them for some distance and undid the knot. They prostrated before Him and happily returned to Madurai.

Within a year thereafter, a son was born to them. They gratefully named the boy as Seshadri.

From then on, every year they came to Tiruvannamalai and spent five or six days in the service of Swamigal.

The fact that Devi Meenakshi told them to go to Seshadri Swamigal proves that Swamigal and Devi Parvathi are one and the same. Seshadri Swamigal is often referred to as Kamakshi Swaroopam Herself. Here below are all the Three:

  1. Should it not be our aim to raise to the level of Swamigal? It may appear to be a Herculean task. But, with the benign grace of Devi Meenakshi and Swamigal, even the impossible would become possible (Mookam Karothi Vaachaalam)!

    Many thanks for this blog!
